Sound Designer
Full Member
I'm an audio director, composer, sound designer and voice director working in games, generative sound design, video production and radio. I bring a strong sense of creative leadership and style to my projects, working across the entire team to inculcate the importance of incorporating high quality audio production work.
My latest release is the game The Last Campfire (https://thelastcampfiregame.com/) for which I composed and performed all of the music, created the sound design (all the sounds are original, no library effects), voice directed and implemented the audio within Unity.
I'm the freelance audio director for Hello Games' innovative procedural space game, No Man's Sky, where I'm responsible for all of the sound design, additional music, audio tools development and overall creative audio direction across multiple platforms.
For many of my projects I've designed brand new audio tools, such as a physically modelled vocal tract plugin for Wwise and a standalone cutting-edge generative music application for industrial applications.
I work with Microsoft in composing music and sound design across both traditional media such as video production and in VR/AR. I have worked on several VR games and currently produce the audio for the medical training company FundamentalVR.
I've worked on over fifty games of all shapes and sizes across mobile, console, PC and custom platforms. Titles include Strike Suite Zero, Deus Ex: The Fall, Thief (2013), Joe Danger 2: The Movie, Finger Hoola, Zombies Run & Lego City: Undercover, Pure, Lego Batman & Harry Potter, Juiced 2, Crime Life, Broke Sword IV, Ghost Master, Warrior Kings and Discworld Noir.
Outside of games I sound design and mix corporate videos for large brands such as the Project Management Institute, Education First, Microsoft and Penhaligon. I also co-run the radio production company Perfectly Normal Productions, which has commissions from the BBC and Audible.
I'm a leading commercial generative composer and have created soundscapes for retail spaces across the world, including shopping centres, banks, hotels and airports. The work for Harrod's toy department won the Audio Branding Academy 2012 gold award.
I'm very experienced in using Wwise along with FMOD and Unity.
I lecture in game audio and have run several university courses and regularly speak at conferences such as GDC, Develop & Gamescom. I also run a yearly intensive module in game audio at Aalto University.
