Cable Clinic in progress
From time to time, AMPS organises professionally run Training Courses for the benefit of Members.
One of the most recent was the AMPS Cable Clinic. This was a four-day course designed to teach people already in the film and TV industry how to make and repair various audio and visual cables. It also incorporated basic health and safety skills with regard to electrical safety on set.
The aim of the course was to equip the participants with skills that they could use when working on a production in the film and TV industry. We also wanted to provide an accreditation that could be used on CV’s to help in their pursuit of work in the industry. These skills included soldering, cable preparation, fault finding etc.
