The Cinema & Television Benevolent Fund (CTBF) is the film, cinema and independent television industries' trade charity. Every year it helps hundreds of people of all ages who are working, or have worked, in these industries, and are in need.
The variety of assistance the CBTF provides is huge and ranges from practical support or assistance with financial problems, to arranging specific grants.
Long term residential care for the elderly at the CTBF home, 'Glebelands', situated in the Berkshire countryside can be provided ,or short term stays at the home for recuperation from accident or surgery are available for any needing a pleasant restful atmosphere to regain health in.
Assistance and care is available if you are 18+ and have worked freelance or fully employed for at least two years in any technical, production or administrative capacity in the motion picture, cinema, independent television or video industries.
The AMPS Council is considering becoming an annual contributor to the fund and seeks the approval of the membership to do so. The donation would be moderate to start with, and drawn from existing funds and income. The exact amounts are yet to be decided.
If any Members are opposed to the idea, the Council would like to hear from them. If there are no objections before August 31st 1998 approval will be assumed and action taken to put the scheme into operation
Individual membership of the CTBF is also a possibility. The annual subscription is a minimum of 15. Information and membership forms are available from:
