AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

Founded in 1986

To promote the science, technology and creative application of all aspects  of sound and image recording, reproduction and associated processes for motion pictures, television and allied media, and to enhance the status and recognition of the contribution of those therein engaged.

MEMBERSHIP

FULL MEMBERSHIP is for individuals with at least six years' professional experience in a skill or skills of sound or image generation, recording, manipulation or reproduction, recognised by the Council of AMPS as being included under our Aims above.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP is similar but requires between three and six years' experience as above.
SUPPLEMENTARY MEMBERSHIP is similar but requires less than three years' experience as above.
HONORARY MEMBERSHIP is bestowed on individuals who the Council consider have made a great contribution to the Association or the technology it embraces.
RETIRED MEMBERSHIP is open to Members fully retired from gainful employment in the Full, Associate, Supplementary or Affiliate categories.
AFFILIATE MEMBERSHIP is open to individuals not eligible for Full, Associate or Supplementary Membership, but whose work, research and interests are closely allied to the occupations covered by them.
SUSTAINING MEMBERSHIP is open to organisations willing to support AMPS in its Aims and Objects.
STUDENT MEMBERSHIP is open to individuals while on a training course for a skill or skills recognised by the Council, provided that he/she intends to make it their profession.
